Our Story

Jackie Ray’s was established by restaurant pioneer Jack Ray Hooks in 2015. Jack, who also operated 'JR Hooks' in Circleville, OH for many years, was well know for serving great food in a warm welcoming, friendly environment.

Jackie Ray’s is located in an old electric generation building for the Traction Line Railroad in historic Ashville, OH. Built in 1905, this remarkable building is a reminder of life in Ohio at the beginning of the 20th century.

Jack passed away in 2018, but may his culinary passion live on forever. We like to honor Jack’s memory by offering a wide variety of his legendary favorites like his corn crab chowder, chicken Sacramento, pizzas and house made salad dressings.
